About Me:

My name is Sara Foreman, and I am a Bay Area native and multidisciplinary artist working across 3D digital and 2D traditional painting mediums, including asset creation, character modeling, and graphic-style gouache painting. I am a Studio Art major at San Francisco State University.

My practice centers on personal identity in the digital age, exploring the tension between virtual and physical selfhood. I explore how digital self expression both masks and reveals our human need for belonging. I help to design a version of ourselves that can protect, exaggerate, or more authentically express who we are through digital avatars or assets. Within this protective barrier of online anonymity, connections across long distances often feel easier and more accessible.

In contrast, my gouache paintings explore the isolation that lingers beyond digital spaces. The empty, stylized landscapes I paint mirror my experience of navigating both the virtual and physical world, reflecting the solitude that remains when the performance and masking of identity falls away.

My sweet helpers, Cookies and Oliver.
